Company History

True Design was started in 1993 by Jay Trueman in Columbus, Ohio.  The focus of the company was providing clients professionally designed logoed apparel and promotional products.  Initially, most clients were small business owners.  Services provided to these early clients included screen printed and embroidered apparel, design and the sourcing of print & promotional marketing materials.  True Design grew steadily, employing Jay and a few part time employees until 1998.

As the client list grew, so did the list of products and services, expanding to accommodate their marketing needs.  Services such as Direct Mail, Brand Development, Signage & Package Design and Marketing Consultation were added.  By 2000 the staff had increased to four full time people supplemented by part time staffers and interns.  True Design added web site development to its mix of services as a natural extension to the off line marketing materials it provided clients.  At this time a strategic alliance developed between True Design and what is today JNT Technologies to handle the influx of online application requests.  This alliance continues today with the two companies housed within the same office and integrally working together daily.  True Design began shifting its focus from small businesses to middle market size clients, completing projects for companies such as Battelle, Chase Manhattan Mortgage, Huntington Banks and Time Warner Cable.

In 2003 True Design began providing fulfillment services to select clients.  The primary function was distribution of various marketing materials to sales personnel in the field.  Early success in this area illustrated that there was a need.  Also during this time, refinement of the product and service offering took shape, focusing True Design on assisting clients with their marketing materials.  Beginning in 2004, True Design began working on and investing in the concept of integrating the creation, production, fulfillment and management of marketing materials utilizing a web based application.  At first utilizing web based applications to manage production functions and then in 2006 introducing functions for clients to utilize.  In 2007 we began beta testing our Centralized Marketing Solution.  It is an on and off line solution which enables companies with multiple people, in multiple locations, using multiple types of marketing materials to seamlessly order, warehouse, fulfill and manage these variables in real time.  The testing phase has been a great success and we continue to add new functions and capabilities to the system. An updated version of our Centralized Marketing Solution will be launched in 2008 and we will begin introducing this system to new clients.  True Design will continue to fulfill our client’s needs for marketing materials including promotional products, branded apparel, printed materials and signage.  Through our Centralized Marketing Solution we will become an integral part of their marketing function assisting them to expand and improve their businesses.
